Maruho and the Japanese Dermatological Association announce the Joint Operation of the Maruho Prize

Osaka and Tokyo (Japan), June 5, 2017 - Maruho Co., Ltd. ("Maruho", Head Office: Osaka, Japan, President and CEO: Koichi Takagi) and The Japanese Dermatological Association (Executive Office: Tokyo, Japan, President: Shinji Shimada, hereinafter referred to as "The Association") are pleased to announce that from 2017 the Maruho Prize, operated by Maruho, will be renamed "Master of Dermatology (Maruho)" and both parties will operate the prize.

The Maruho Prize, "to honor great contributors in clinical dermatology," was established by Maruho in 2010 to recognize dermatologists who have made outstanding achievements in clinical dermatology and contributed to the development of the field of clinical dermatology in Japan. From now on, the Association will receive applications and candidates will be selected by the Association's selection committee based on the criteria of people who have made a great contribution to the development of dermatology in Japan in through clinical, dermatological research, human resources development, social contributions, etc. The prize winner will be selected at the Association's executive board meeting. The winner is planned to be announced at an award ceremony and lecture jointly operated by Maruho and the Association, at the Annual Meeting of the Japanese Dermatological Association.
