We also set tasks and visions to achieve for each department while forming a cross-departmental task force, holding unique seminars and educational programs and implementing other measures to achieve targets.◦ Promoting next-generation developmentMaruho encourages employees to take childcare leave to help them balance childcare and work for future generations. We have made efforts to encourage male employees to take childcare leave. This includes communicating information from top management and issuing Company newsletter articles to familiarize them with the system, designing a system that makes it easier to take childcare leave, and delivering notices to eligible employees. Also paying attention to the working hours of employees, we are making efforts to reduce overtime hours in each department.◦ Initiatives to respect diversity in individuals From the perspective of diversity and inclusion to understand and accept differences, Maruho has launched initiatives focusing on a more global viewpoint.support next-generation development We formed a task force with members gathered through recommendation and open invitation, working to raise the awareness of women’s participation and promote personnel exchanges and networking through group discussions and lunch meetings. Opinions raised at discussions of the task force are reported and discussed at management meetings to be adopted as initiatives to promote women’s participation. We supported the “childcare support festa” held by the Nantan Area Promotion Bureau by exhibiting panels and giving a presentation as a panelist.support diverse work styles that fit the individual lifestyles of all employees.Aiming to help employees maintain and improve their health, Maruho promotes health management support. We conduct a stress check annually for the purpose of prevention, early discovery, and early treatment of mental disorders. Smoking is prohibited throughout the Company. To properly manage working hours and eliminate excessive overtime hours, we aim for zero departments with over 30 overtime hours worked a month for three consecutive months and zero individuals working over 540 overtime hours a year. We will expand our initiatives to help employees and their family members maintain and improve their health, such as introducing an app to support health promotion activities.◦ Promoting employment and engagement of people with disabilities We support employment of people with disabilities by offering an environment where they feel safe in working and assigning a job coach for employees with developmental disabilities, thereby enabling them to make full use of their individual abilities. We accept interns from special needs schools for jobs appropriate for their aptitude and preference, and promote them to the position of regular employees after three years.
