28The SDGs are the 17 goals that should be achieved by the international community by 2030 for sustainabledevelopment, adopted by the United Nations in 2015.IndividualsThe CompanySocietyAt Maruho, we pursue Truth as individuals, as employees, and as members of society. This approach corresponds with the philosophy of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations in 2015, namely the 17 goals that should be achieved by 2030 in such areas as poverty, health and well-being, and climate change. Under our Corporate Mission to contribute to better health for people all over the world, Maruho will contribute to achieving SDG 3 “Good Health and Well-being” through our business activities, and will also create products that can satisfy the needs of patients that have been overlooked or given up on, and deliver appropriate products to patients, with the aim of realizing a society where everyone can live with a smile.Maruho strives to provide every employee with opportunities to autonomously grow and play an active role, and to establish a safe and healthy workplace environment for everyone. At the same time, Maruho encourages its employees to take voluntary action in order to protect the regional and global environments as members of society and to incorporate social contribution activities in our corporate culture.
