25Maruho Hatsujyo Kogyo Co., Ltd.As a member of global society, Maruho Hatsujyo Kogyo has defined its environmental policy and is promoting environmental management activities to protect the regional and global environments. By properly managing the environmental aspects of our activities, products, and services, we contribute to preventing environmental pollution. Moreover, through its environmental management system, Maruho Hatsujyo Kogyo actively works to ensure environmental protection by continuously improving initiatives to prevent pollution. Specifically, from among the 17 SDGs, we have selected five priority tasks related to the environment (SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 14: Life Below Water). We formulated specific measures for these goals (including measures to be considered or implemented in the future) and have been implementing these measures.Based on the Corporate Credo of “Pursuit of Truth,” in order to take each product seriously and continue to provide products that satisfy customers, Maruho Hatsujyo Kogyo has established four principles in its quality policy, striving to guarantee quality products. 1. Promote prevention of environmental pollution based on appropriate management of environmental aspects related to our activities, products, and services.2. We comply with environmental laws and regulations, including environmental ordinances, and other requirements on which we agree. We strive to reduce our environmental impact by establishing our own voluntary standards.3. We observe the following items as particularly important themes for the continuous reduction of environmental impact. 3-1 We reduce electricity and paper consumption as much as possible. 3-2 We reduce and promote the appropriate management of industrial waste. 3-3 We actively promote the use of recycled products. 3-4 We control any chemical substances contained in our products. We provide products with reduced environmental load substances. To achieve this environmental policy, we establish environmental objectives and targets. We regularly review them through internal environmental audits and promote environmental management activities.4. This environmental policy has been shared with all Maruho Hatsujyo Kogyo employees and stakeholders, and has been made available to the public.1. We have established a quality management system in order to continue to provide products that satisfy our customers.2. We actively comply with laws, regulations, standards, requirements exchanged with customers, and internal regulations related to our products.3. We have established and implement specific actions and evaluation indicators to realize the practice in the quality policy.4.
